The ability to identify and protect creative content is essential to protect asset value.
Relevant projects have included: Visible Rights (BAFTA, TMI/UCL and Film London), contribution to IPTC (International Press and Telecommunications Council) Video Metadata Hub standard, Technical Committee membership of the Copyright Hub, and coordination of Creative Commons UK.
Overall, TMI activity in IP and Copyright has three aims, to:
- Increase the proportion of rights-ready content available for discovery, access and reuse
- Create conditions for licensing and access, innovate friction-free toolsets for rights holders and licensees
- Provide market intelligence and learning tools, enabling volume of content to grow
